Valérie Jacobs
Born to Hosanna “Rougée” Olivier and Richard Jacobs in Chicago, Illinois. A prolific and dedicated artist for over 60 years, she graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1956, then married Eduardo Ferrer. Together they had 3 children, whom she raised in Chicago and ultimately the Noe Valley district of San Francisco.
Valérie enjoyed teaching art, especially to children, and attained her MA from SFSU in 1975.
Valérie met Kevyn Lutton in 1985 and together they formed a lifelong partnership in both life and art. In over 60 years as a working artist, Valérie had exhibitions in multiple cities across the US. Her work was shown in galleries such as the M.H. de Young, SOMArts Gallery, Verba Beuna Center and the Bert Green Fine Art in LA.
She was a political activist with a deep love for rescue animals, especially seniors.
